·              Lake Superior is up and running for the season.  We closed early on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend due to the inclement weather.  Prior to opening we also had a few trees come down during the storm by the beach area.

·              Fort Delaware has been hosting student days.  We had to move some of the schools to later dates because of the storm damage but have been able to get them all rescheduled again.  Currently we have 15 schools coming to student days.  The Fort is currently open weekends until the end of June and then will commence its summer schedule through Labor Day Weekend.

·              The D&H Canal Interpretive Center opened Memorial Day Weekend.  The Department of Public Works has installed new informational signage along Route 209 for the trail access points and the Interpretive Center.  The trails were hit hard during the storm with trees down across the trail.  We are in the process of getting them cut up.

·              The Department of Public Works is replacing the Sullivan County Cultural Centers sidewalk that was in disrepair which is located from the parking lot and goes to the main entrance.

·              The contractor is scheduled to begin the restoration of the bathrooms at the Stone Arch Bridge Park and Minisink Battleground Park.

·              The All in One Parks Brochure is completed and is currently at the printers.  It will be distributed around the County when it is completed.

·              I attended the Sullivan County Trail Committee meeting.  We had representatives from the Town of Fallsburg attend the meeting to discuss trails located throughout their Town.

·              I was a member of the review committee for the Division of Planning and Community Development - Sullivan Signs Program.  There were a lot of great proposals from the local Towns and Villages.

·              I have been receiving designs and quotes for a playground unit that I would like to have installed behind Fort Delaware.  The playground would enhance the student day program and I would also like to begin offering an incorporated pavilion rental/Fort Delaware experience for families to host Colonial Themed children’s parties.

·              Parks and Recreation is teaming up with Workforce for Development again this summer to enhance the hiking trail at the Liberty Human Service Complex.  They are going to be putting down wood chips throughout the trail and beautifying the trail entrance.
