Body

WHEREAS, Sullivan County, at its discretion and in an effort to support Towns in their beautification efforts, typically funds a municipal clean-up program in the fall and spring of each year which includes allocated free tonnage to each Town for bulky waste disposal at the Monticello Transfer Station; and

WHEREAS,  Due to the seasonal fluxuations in population and  the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation permit mandated operational constraints at the transfer station, it is becoming difficult to handle the additional traffic flow thru the scale after May 15, 2019 and before September 15, 2019; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that beginning in 2019, the Municipal Clean-up Program shall be offered April 15, 2019 thru May 15, 2019 for spring cleanup, and September 15, 2019 thru October 15, 2019 for fall clean up with some flexibility to include weekends immediately before and after those dates at the discretion of the Director of Solid Waste and Recycling.
